The Lahore Market Committee, under the supervision of the Punjab Government’s Price Control Department, has issued the latest official rate list for vegetables, fruits, and chicken on 27 October 2025.

According to the new notification, the price of onion in Lahore stands between Rs. 107 and Rs. 115 per kilogram, while tomato is being sold at Rs. 167 to Rs. 185 per kilogram. The rate of ginger (China) has been fixed between Rs. 610 and Rs. 640, and garlic (Desi) between Rs. 390 and Rs. 410 per kilogram. Other common vegetables including potatoes, carrots, green chilies, and spinach are showing stability, with only a minor upward trend observed in leafy vegetables due to seasonal variations.

In the fruit market, the new rates show that apple Kala Kulu Pahari is being sold between Rs. 317 and Rs. 340 per kilogram, while orange kinnow, which has just entered the market this season, is priced between Rs. 247 and Rs. 260 per kilogram. Similarly, pomegranate, banana, guava, and grapes have also maintained their earlier prices across most retail shops.

Meanwhile, the poultry section recorded slight changes. The live broiler chicken is priced at Rs. 298 per kilogram, while broiler meat is available at Rs. 432 per kilogram. The rate of farm eggs has been fixed at Rs. 333 per dozen.

Officials have directed retailers and shopkeepers across the city to ensure full implementation of the government rate list. Citizens have been advised to report overcharging or violations to the official complaint helpline 0800-02345 for immediate action.
