Lahore Chicken, Egg Prices Hit Updated Rates

Full compliance directed by authorities.

The Punjab government has enforced new poultry prices in Lahore, effective April 8, 2026, as part of its broader strategy to regulate essential food commodities. The notification, issued through the district administration and PAMRA, outlines clearly defined rates for chicken and eggs.

Live broiler chicken has been priced at Rs. 383 per kilogram, while different categories of chicken meat range between Rs. 397 and Rs. 595 per kilogram. These rates reflect prevailing supply chain dynamics and aim to ensure both quality and affordability.

Egg pricing has also been brought under regulatory control, with a carton set at Rs. 6990 and a dozen priced at Rs. 237. Officials have stated that these measures are crucial in preventing hoarding and profiteering.

The administration has urged citizens to remain vigilant and report any violations via the official complaint number provided in the notification. Strict enforcement mechanisms are being deployed to ensure full compliance.

This move is expected to strengthen consumer confidence and bring stability to Lahore’s poultry market.
