Data released by the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS) shows that mobile phone imports have significantly contributed to the country’s import bill, totaling Rs 406.38 billion in the first three quarters of the ongoing fiscal year.
The statistics highlight that in March 2026, the import volume reached Rs 41.70 billion, marking a 14.28% increase over the same month in the previous year (Rs 36.49 billion). However, on a month-on-month basis, there was a contraction of 4.26% from February’s figure of Rs 43.56 billion.
