Prices of essential commodities, including poultry, fruits, and vegetables, remained mixed in Lahore’s markets today as rates for some items continued to rise due to increasing transportation and supply costs.

According to the latest market data for October 10, 2025, live chicken is being sold at Rs328 per kilogram, while chicken meat is available at Rs475 per kilogram. The price of eggs stands at Rs315 per dozen, reflecting overall market stability in the poultry sector.

Meanwhile, the fruit market showed moderate variation in prices. Dates are being sold between Rs190 and Rs270 per kilogram, guava at Rs75, papaya at Rs220, grapes at Rs155, chikoo at Rs160, bananas at Rs110, and mountain black apples at Rs245 per kilogram.

The vegetable market, however, showed significant fluctuations. Tomatoes surged to Rs240 per kilogram, while onions reached Rs220. Other key items include bitter gourd (karela) at Rs260, ginger at Rs500, garlic at Rs440, green chilies at Rs120, and capsicum at Rs335 per kilogram.

Cheaper vegetables like turnips are priced at Rs32, potatoes at Rs35, cauliflower at Rs35, and cabbage at Rs21 per kilogram. Leafy greens such as spinach and fenugreek (methi) are being sold at Rs40 and Rs80 respectively.

Traders in Lahore’s main markets said that rising fuel costs and higher freight charges continue to impact retail prices. They added that while poultry prices are stable, the volatility in vegetable and fruit rates may persist until supply improves from rural producing areas.
