Battle of Haq ceremony held at GHQ Today

On the completion of one year of victory in the Battle of Haq, a special ceremony was held at the General Headquarters in which Pakistan’s military leadership participated. During the ceremony, attendance was paid at the Martyrs’ Memorial, and Fateha was offered for the martyrs.

Addressing the ceremony, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir said that the events that took place last year have taken Pakistan’s defence capability, military preparedness and national unity to a new level. According to him, Pakistan ensured its defence with patience and wisdom in the tension that arose during May 2025.

He said that modern-day wars are no longer limited to traditional battlefields, but now cyber technology, drones and artificial intelligence have also become part of the defence strategy. In this context, Pakistan is continuously developing its defence preparations on modern lines.

The Field Marshal said that keeping in mind the requirements of national security, the Pakistani armed forces are being aligned with modern challenges. According to him, new reforms in the defence structure will be helpful in dealing with future threats.

He said that Pakistan desires peace in the region but is fully capable of responding effectively to any external pressure or aggression. In his speech, he mentioned the growing importance of Pakistan at the diplomatic level and termed relations with friendly countries as a positive development.

On the occasion of the ceremony, tributes were also paid to the martyrs and victims of the struggle for truth. The military leadership reiterated its resolve that the ongoing operations against terrorism will be taken to their logical conclusion.

In their messages, President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif appreciated the sacrifices and professional services of the armed forces and said that the nation is united for the defence of the homeland.
