Vivo Teases S60 Series Design Ahead of Official Launch

Web Desk 2 days ago 0

Vivo has officially started building excitement around its upcoming S60 series by revealing key design elements ahead of launch, showcasing a fresh “summer-inspired” aesthetic and a premium glass finish that highlights the brand’s continued focus on design innovation.

According to Vivo Product Manager Han Boxiao, the S60 series introduces a new visual identity inspired by sunlight reflecting on ocean waves during summer. The company says the rear panel features a shimmering effect that shifts under light, giving the device a dynamic, almost fluid appearance when moved.

Premium cold-carved glass design

A major highlight of the Vivo S60 series is its large, single-piece cold-carved glass back panel. This manufacturing approach is designed to enhance both durability and in-hand feel while delivering a seamless and refined look. The reflective finish, combined with the “shining” color theme, positions the S60 series as one of Vivo’s most design-focused smartphones yet.

Early visuals suggest the standard Vivo S60 may continue with a top-left camera layout, similar to its predecessor, while the S60 Pro Mini could retain a horizontal camera module design seen in previous compact Pro variants.

Expected specifications (based on leaks)

Although Vivo has not officially confirmed internal hardware details, industry leaks indicate that the S60 series could bring significant upgrades in performance and battery life.

Reports suggest the standard Vivo S60 may feature a 6.59-inch 1.5K AMOLED display with slim bezels and a smooth high refresh rate experience. Under the hood, the device is expected to be powered by a Snapdragon 8s-series chipset, paired with up to 12GB RAM and UFS 4.1 storage.

On the camera side, the phone is rumored to include a Sony IMX8-series periscope telephoto sensor, while some leaks also hint at a high-resolution primary camera system aimed at improving low-light photography and zoom performance.

Battery capacity is expected to be a major selling point, with reports pointing to a massive cell starting around 7,000mAh, supported by 90W fast charging.

Market positioning and launch expectations

While Vivo has not confirmed an exact launch date, multiple reports suggest the S60 series is moving closer to its official debut, with pre-bookings already appearing in China. Industry watchers expect the lineup to target the upper mid-range to premium segment, competing with similarly spec’d devices from rival brands.

If leaks hold true, the S60 series could later be rebranded for global markets under a different name, continuing Vivo’s strategy of regional model variations.

Final outlook

With its focus on reflective aesthetics, large glass construction, and flagship-level performance upgrades, the Vivo S60 series is shaping up to be one of Vivo’s most visually distinctive smartphone launches of the year.

More official details are expected in the coming weeks as Vivo moves closer to the formal unveiling.
