Fuel prices have been increased once again in the country, after which the prices of both petrol and diesel have reached close to Rs 400 per litre.
According to a notification issued by the Petroleum Division Pakistan, the price of high-speed diesel has been increased by Rs 19.39 per litre, after which the new price has been set at Rs 399.58.
Similarly, the price of petrol has been increased by Rs 6.51 per litre, after which one litre of petrol has become Rs 399.86.
According to officials, these new prices will be implemented immediately from 1st May, as a result of which there are fears that transport and daily necessities will become more expensive.
On the other hand, a spokesperson for the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority has rejected the news of a strike at petrol pumps circulating on social media, saying that such reports are baseless.
The government has also clarified that the news of petrol pumps being closed from May 1 is not true and fuel supply will continue as usual across the country.
