Samsung Launches Galaxy A57 with Flagship-Grade AMOLED+ Display and 6-Year Support

Samsung has officially raised the bar for the mid-range smartphone segment with the global release of the Galaxy A57. Moving away from its traditional “budget” feel, the 2026 iteration introduces flagship-level materials and long-term software commitments that challenge even the premium S-series.

Flagship Visuals in a Mid-Range Body

The standout feature of the Galaxy A57 is the introduction of a 6.7-inch Super AMOLED+ display. With a peak brightness of 1900 nits and a 120Hz refresh rate, it is designed to remain perfectly legible under direct sunlight—a feature previously reserved for the Ultra lineup. The device has also undergone a “diet,” sitting at a remarkably slim 6.9mm thickness while maintaining a glass and metal build with an IP68 water resistance rating.

Performance and AI Integration

Under the hood, the A57 is powered by the Exynos 1680 (4nm) chipset, paired with up to 12GB of LPDDR5X RAM. This hardware choice enables a suite of “Galaxy AI” features, including:

  • Circle to Search: Now with multi-item segmentation.
  • Live Voice Transcription: Real-time meeting summaries via One UI 8.5.
  • Enhanced Nightography: A 50MP main sensor with a significantly faster image signal processor (ISP).

The 6-Year Promise

In a move to increase device longevity, Samsung has confirmed that the A57 will receive 6 years of major Android OS updates and 6 years of security patches, ensuring the device remains current through 2032.
